1917 Jacob Levine becomes a licensed master plumber in New York City.
 
1928 Jacob and his son Samuel, form Par Plumbing Co., Inc., with a shop in Brooklyn.
 
1930's      Par performs small plumbing jobs throughout the borough of Brooklyn.
 
1940's Residential new construction in Brooklyn and Queens becomes the mainstay of Par's business.
 
1950's Samuel along with his brother George, move PAR into the 6-story residential buildings market along with tract housing and strip shopping centers. The majority of this work is concentrated in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

Par relocates their shop from a small storefront on Clarkson Avenue to a 2500 square foot office and shop on Utica Avenue.
 

1960's Par's market expands to include high-rise residential construction work in all five boroughs of the city.

Larry Levine starts his career at Par, initially as a plumber in the field, then as a job superintendent.

Par completes its first high rise office building in Manhattan, the 45 story ITT Headquarters at 437 Madison Avenue. This venture leads to a long list of similar type projects, such as 77 Water Street, 747 Third Avenue, 595 West 57th Street, 800 Third Avenue, 127 John Street, 130 John Street and 450 Park Avenue.
 

1970's Early in the decade, Martin Levine starts his full time employment with the company. He spends a few years working in the field before moving into a position in the office.

Par outgrows their Brooklyn facility and relocates to a 23,000 square foot office and shop in Lynbrook, Long Island. Par maintains a New York City address at 405 Lexington Avenue.

Under Martin's direction, Par's service, alteration and maintenance division is established. From the start-up crew of 2 plumbers in a used van, this business segment quickly grows through its ability to render reliable service 24 hours a day, seven days a week concentrating on the commercial high rise market place. Par establishes its position to gain good market penetration and share with its efforts.
 

1980's Par's new construction division performs the plumbing work on such prestigious projects as the Phillip Morris World Headquarters, the New York Palace Hotel, 101 Park Avenue, the Asia Society and 265 East 66th Street.

Par extends their expertise into the areas of health facilities, performing projects at the Westchester Square Hospital, North Shore Hospital, New York Eye and Ear Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital.

Par's service, alteration and maintenance division becomes a complement to the new construction division, by stepping into a project and performing the tenant fit-up work with totally separate crews. This expedites the completion of the original core and shell contract work with the simultaneous execution of the tenant work on projects such as 1155 Avenue of the Americas and 135 East 57th Street.

Towards the end of the decade Par's new construction work is mainly in the area of high rise condominium apartment houses, such as 400 East 79th Street, Sterling Plaza, 400 East 24th Street, 300 East 85th Street and 400 East 70th Street.
 

1990's Early in this period, the private sector work becomes very scarce, so Par moves into the public sector to perform the plumbing contracts on school construction authority projects throughout the city.

Par moves to expand it's service, alteration and maintenance division's arena by bidding on and obtaining contracts in the Department of Environmental Protection's Universal Water Meter Program and job order contracts for various New York City agencies. This division now obtains its workload from both the private and public sectors.

The end of the decade finds the new construction of high rise apartments very active. Par obtains its share of the market, by performing the contracts on 300 East 64th Street, 250 West 50th Street, 21 West Street, 243 Lexington Avenue, 520 West 43rd Street and 345 East 94th Street.
